BAMBOO BAY (AO MAI PAI)
Almost at the very southern tip of Koh Lanta (but not quite), just around the point from Waterfall Bay is Ao Mai Pai – Bamboo Bay. Take the road from Waterfall Bay south. The road splits in two here. If you need to go straight on to the National Park HQ & Lighthouse, take the left, otherwise continue on and if you can take the steep bumpy road, you’ll end up in Bamboo Bay.
This kind of thing is what Koh Lanta is really famous for. Here you really feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere with yet another perfect white sandy beach – and virtually no-one else around. Its by far one of the most tranquil beach spots on Koh Lanta with a truly untouched feel to it.
There are 2 budget bungalow resorts at the north of the bay, and 1 more luxurious one at the southern end. All 3 have restaurants.
